Textile Science

From Fiber to Fashion

Department of Textile Science, Faculty of Agro-Industry, Kasetsart University was founded in response to the Seventh National Economic and Social Development Plan that encouraged public educational institutions to develop manpower in fields of high demand for economic development and corresponding to the targeted industries of Thailand, especially textile industry.

 

Department of Textile Science offers the programs that emphasize on integrated knowledges in textile science and technology, innovation, creative thinking and business management, in order for our students to have an ability of applying knowledges in science and technology for textiles and fashion business. The program content covers sciences of fibers, yarns, fabrics, textile chemical processing, apparel production and technology, textile product design and development, textile merchandising and fashion branding. In addition, with project-based learning in collaboration with textile industry sector (for learning activity and case study), our students have an opportunity to learn from related issues in real situation, leading to development of key working skills for future textile and fashion industry.

Bachelor of Science (Textile Science and Technology)

Master of Science (Textile Industrial Technology and Merchandising)

This curriculum is designed for working individuals who are looking for business opportunity in textile industry and people who are interested in pursuing their higher education to gain their research and problem-solving skills for successful careers. This curriculum offers students an experience in the area of textile science, technology and merchandising as they gain technical and creative knowledge through planning and critical thinking development. Students will be trained to be a systematic thinker who can recommend, select, plan and experiment in practice through learning process.
